Functions of Fuel water separator
The function of the oil-water separator is to filter out some impurities in the diesel.Remove the moisture in the diesel. The oil-water separator is composed of ahand-pressed diaphragm pump, a liquid level sensor, a float, a shell and a
cover. Diesel enters the separator through the oil inlet and flows out through theoil outlet.
NOTE: The FS1280 water separator filter is not recommended for Marine Application!
The water separator filter is a spin engine spin-on type filter that removes both free and coarse water down to a 10 Micron 1evel. The Fleetguard FS1280 Water Separator Filter meets today's high-pressure fuel systems requirements for entrained and emulsified water
separation that causes injector tips to wear out prematurely. Installation is simple and will be leak-free because replacement seals
are included with this Filter. This Water Separator is a direct OEM Cummins replacement filter.
KLM recommends regularly draining this fleetguard fue1 water separator filter to remove the water contained within this filter.
Periodically removing the water from this Fleetguard water separator filter will help to prevent freeze-ups in your vehicle fuel system during the winter months. KLM Performance recommends keeping a spare set of the Fleetguard Replacement Filters in your vehicleat all times.
