617021551 is the large built-in oil filter element used in screw refrigeration compressors.

Primary Function: It is installed at the bottom of the compressor's oil sump to filter impurities out of the refrigeration oil, protecting the bearings and extending the compressor's operational lifespan.

When to Replace: Replace the filter element immediately when the oil pressure differential exceeds the safety threshold or if the compressor starts making unusual noises. 

Replacement Procedure: Simply remove the bottom flange plate of the compressor to pull out and swap the filter element.
