Material/Function Distinction:

With "W" suffix (e.g., FRE-48W / FRE-100W): These cores are primarily designed to trap mechanical impurities and solid particles; some designs allow for cleaning and reuse.

Without "W" suffix (e.g., FRE-48 / FRE-100): These feature high moisture and acid absorption capabilities. They are disposable consumables typically replaced during system burnout repairs or routine maintenance.
